To My Scouting Family,
Today my friend and mentor Ken Brandeburg passed away.
The Leukemia that he had been battling for the last two years finally got the better of him.
Ken had been Scoutmaster in Charleroi for nearly 40 years and had helped 53 Scouts achieve the rank of Eagle in that time.
Many Scouts in the Valley remember him as the nature man from day camp. A position he held from the first Mon Valley Day Camp in 1975 to the one last year.
He was a good friend to all, a dedicated Scoutmaster, and the embodiment of the ideals we try to teach our Scouts.
His end came quietly and peacefully, he just stopped breathing.
On behalf of Ken and all of us involved with the Troop and Pack here in Charleroi, I would like to thank all of you for the prayers, kind thoughts, and support you have shown him over the last few years.
The funeral will be at The Schrock – Hogan Funeral Home in Charleroi. Once the details have firmed up I will let you know.
Safe journey my friend, and may choirs of angels sing thee to thy eternal rest.
